Our Story.

Where It All Began.

Over 20,000 youth age out of foster care every year. Make It Matter: The Collective was created to meet the needs of foster youth aging out of foster care in a tangible way by providing them with practical support to push them towards their purpose, even in the midst of pain. We believe in creating unique and powerful resources to remind every teenager that they can make every moment matter.

We commit, as a nonprofit organization, to uphold our mission and provide quality resources to these foster youth. Our goal is to be able to provide all youth with mentorship and support. Your donation and support gets us one step closer to doing that. Together, let’s make it matter.

Meet

Our Founder.

Growing up, I always had a heart for foster/adoptive youth and families. Throughout the years, I have surrounded myself with people that are like minded, and this led me to pursuing a social work degree at Auburn University. I graduated in 2018 with my BSW, and immediately started working for a therapeutic foster care agency in Alabama. As a foster care social worker, I see day in and day out the challenges that these youth face, the opposition that surrounds them, and the lack of resources available as they transition into independent living. My husband, David, and I have always had a desire to meet the needs of these youth in a tangible way, and provide them with resources and support that speak to their purpose, even in the midst of pain. Our hope and prayer is that Make It Matter: The Collective will be a place to house practical and powerful resources.
